You might think it's for the 'Dales' and the 'Bike' bit.
But, really, we think it's for the 'Centre' bit.
Because we're not only the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, and the hub of some the best biking Britain has to offer - we're at the heart of a community too.
Not just the local community we've grown from, but the wider community of like-minded folks who come here.
People who share a love of being outdoors (often on a bike), simple things done well, and cake.
There's always cake.
Established in 2009 by husband and wife team, Stuart and Brenda Price, Dales Bike Centre is very much a team effort. We're proud to employ people of all ages from 10 local families, with many still with us from day one.
It's not just the staff that are local, pretty much everything else is too. We use as much locally-sourced produce as we can in the cafe and support suppliers in our area.
Then there are our award-winning buildings that are either converted barns or built from local materials with local hands.
Even most of our bikes haven't travelled far. Orange Bikes hail from Halifax and are right at home on the hundreds of miles of trails that surround us.
We're not obsessed with the local thing, or preachy about sustainability.
It just seems like the natural thing to do when you're part of the community and landscape we're in.
It's probably why the Dales Bike Centre feels like it belongs here, and we hope the people who come here feel like they belong too.

It’s easy to see from the Harris fencing and building site behind the bike shop we have yet to complete the full expansion plans we set out 6 years ago. The original plan of an 8 room accommodation building can't go ahead due to hugely increased costs making it unviable. The exciting news is that ‘Mega-Pods’ are a fantastic alternative and we've 4 on order, due for delivery Spring 2025.
Mega-Pods are a luxury wooden camping pod with king-size double bed, separate seating area, en-suite shower room and kitchen area with sink, fridge, kettle, combination oven etc. Groundworks will start early in the new year to have the new car park in place and Glamping Pod area landscaped. We’ll update as we get started in 2025.

Strict recycling practice of cardboard, glass, plastic, paper, metal.
Bike lubes and cleaners environmentally friendly.
Using recycled paper, envelopes & toilet paper.
Used tyres and tubes recycled, recycling over 200kgs in 2024
And, of course, we encourage lots and lots of cycle usage!
This is a developing Green Policy and as our business grows and develops, it will too.
