We've got the Yorkshire Dales biggest fleet of hire bikes, including electrically-assisted mountain bikes, tag-a-longs and child seats. We'll also give you as much advice as you can cope with about the best route and kit for you and your family.

An off-road but easy-going 'out & back' route that follows the River Swale through the picturesque Swaledale - and avoids the hills! The Swale Trail is 22km out to the village of Keld and same back. The first half, a 12km section to the pretty village of Gunnerside is a great option being low level and easy going. Gunnerside has a great little pub the Kings Head for a refreshment before heading back.

We've a top-quality, well-maintained fleet of over 50 mountain and road bikes to choose from - including child seats and tag-a-long attachments. Hire for a morning or afternoon, a full day, or multiple days to really explore everything Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales have to offer.

Gunnerside is 12km away and is a half hour bus ride for someone to collect the car and rescue the family - or pedal back!
